Air Cannon(air flow aid, arch breaker, and block remover)

Air Cannon,also known as air flow aid, arch breaker, and block remover, is a sudden strong airflow of compressed gas , which directly rushes into the occlusion fault zone of the storage of bulk materials at a speed exceeding Mach(sonic speed) .This sudden release of the expansion shock wave overcomes the static friction of the material and makes the material in the container flow again.

Efficacy and Application

Air cannon is a special device to prevent and eliminate the phenomenon of material arching, silo blockage, wall sticking, rathole and retention which is in various types of silos, hoppers, and pipeline bifurcations. It is suitable for all kinds of silos, hoppers, pipes and flat bottom stacking which is made of steel,concrete and other materials.

One of simple Pressure Vessels, the air cannon  does not need regular inspection and registration. It can be stopped and replaced after the service life expires. Of course, if you want to continue to use after the service life, it needs to be inspected at this time.

Eight methods of installing air cannon

1. The air cannon is also known as the plug remover. At the appropriate part of the silo that is easy to be blocked, a hole is reserved in the silo design or a hole is cut on site to weld the air cannon nozzle on the silo wall, and then it is welded with the air cannon exhaust pipe or connected with flange. The air bag is hung on the silo wall or other structures with screws or steel bars, and it can also be welded and fixed on the maintenance platform or silo wall, To strengthen the stability of the air bag.

2. The two position three-way solenoid Valve shall be installed on the intake pipe close to the inlet of the cylinder. The length of the connecting pipe between the two position three-way solenoid valve and the cylinder shall not exceed 30mm. Elbows and elbows shall not be set to avoid affecting the recovery time of the piston during shooting, thus affecting the explosion energy.

3. All joints and pipelines of the air source shall be free of air leakage, and the compressed air used must be filtered, cleaned, dried and kept at a stable pressure. The high working pressure is 0.8MPa. The higher the working pressure, the greater the explosion energy and the greater the impact force. When the compressed air is supplied separately, the air pressure is high, the pressure is stable, the pressure loss is small, and the blocking removal effect of the air gun is good. When the compressed air is supplied in a centralized way, it should be considered to install a pressure gauge to monitor the air pressure, so as to avoid excessive pipeline loss, affecting the work of the air monitor or reducing the working effect. The low working pressure of the air monitor shall not be less than 0.4MPa.

4. The drain plug of the air chamber of the air gun shall face down to facilitate drainage. If the air bag is too high from the ground or the operating platform to be operated, and the water content of the air source is too large, a section of outlet pipe can be connected at the drainage outlet to the place convenient for operation, and a valve can be installed to ensure regular drainage. The principle of adding outgoing pipe is to ensure sealing and no leakage.

5. Check valve and ball valve shall be installed at the position convenient for operation.

6. When installing the air monitor, the air monitor exhaust pipe shall be arranged downward, and the included angle with the horizontal line shall not be less than 15 °. The air monitor jet pipe shall be connected with the exhaust port without elbows and elbows, and shall be connected in a straight line. The jet pipe shall be as short as possible, and the length shall not exceed 1.2m. During pneumatic control, the distance between the air bag and the pneumatic control valve shall not exceed 15m.

7. Air cannon (arch breaker), also known as - do not shoot at will until the plug remover is firmly on the silo.

8. When installing the air monitor on the hot equipment, the air bag shall be kept at a certain distance from the hot equipment, and its ambient temperature shall be lower than 50 ℃; When the ambient temperature is lower than 10 ℃, thermal insulation measures shall be taken.
